OLIVIER MOURGUE
Been born in 1939 to Paris Graduate of the School Boulle, Olive Tree Mourgue registers itself to the superior national School of the decorative arts of Paris. From 1964, it works in narrow collaboration with Airborne for which it conceives the armchairs Joker, the series Genie, tric-trac and Whist. The long chair Genie is chosen by Standley Kubrick to equip the space station of his film 2001: "The space odyssey", and figures henceforth in the permanent collection of the MOMA of New York. Olive tree Mourgue collaborates equally with the national Furniture that produces his Rug Sits and installations of space. In the years 70, it is done especially to notice for his seat personage Bouloum, its series of Stick All (1972) and of Seats Toys. This is at this era that it fascinates himself for the mobility and that it perfects its Movable Workshops I and II. In 1976, Olive Tree Mourgue installs itself in Brittany. It works for Renault during three years (of 1977 to 1980). In the years 80, it exposes to the THROUGH and imagines the Seats toboggan (1984). Olive tree Mourgue received many rewards among which ones the International First Design Award (1968) and the national Grand Prix of the industrial creation (1991). It sign to the Institute of arts and technical of Brittany, and to the School of the fine arts of Brest.
