MARIE AMAR
Marie Amar, French artist, born in 1962, lives and works in Paris.
Marie Amar takes photos of the “object” in its reality and before disappearing, she explores transience. Always oversized, the damaged objects chosen by the artist, such as dead leaves or wastes, are photographed over a white background. Frozen in their process of disappearance, reproduced, moved and therefore transformed, they take a sculptural value and become, in a way, confirmed as aesthetic icons.
“… this fascination for transience comes from a crazy urge (impossible) to demonstrate something by its contrary. It is thanks this fragile sense of balance where everything can reborn or burst, that my works uprise little by little.”
